Principal’s Message

From Elementary Principal, Rachael Lay

Dear Pathway Families,

Welcome to Sequoia Pathway Academy, where every child is known! My name is Rachael Lay and I am honored to lead Sequoia Pathway Academy Elementary in serving as YOUR principal. The Sequoia Pathway Academy staff and I welcome you to our school and look forward to a wonderful school year. You have a choice in where your child is educated, and I would like to personally thank you for choosing Sequoia Pathway Academy. My main priority here at Pathway Academy is to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for your children. I believe in being visible to all students, teachers, and parents. I enjoy spending my days in the classrooms, with your children, engaging in their learning process.

As demands of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. We believe that parent involvement is an integral part of a well-rounded education. We welcome families in our classrooms, to join the PTO and visit us during parent nights. We encourage parents to support their children’s education by reading at home, helping with homework and getting their children to school on time.

I am happy to make time to talk with parents, students, and community members regarding any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via telephone or email at

I look forward to meeting all of you! Here’s to an amazing year!

Rachael S. Lay, M.Ed
